Stuart Orchard — That Old Thing Again

Stuart Orchard releases That Old Thing Again. It’s a single produced by Michael Terren with accompanying, duelling remixes from Ylem, and Damian Giambazi.

This one’s an odd metre, often syncopated number conjuring shades of Thom Yorke. With Stuart’s vocal performance a real highlight. The remixes really pick up quite different threads in the original and run with them. Precise, intense, lite-industrial descriptors of Ylem’s work and Giambazi far more enveloping, floating and ethereal.

Ohmu — the days before/the days after

Ohmu returns with the double single the days before/the days after, out now everywhere.

Very cool double single from Ohmu. As with their debut from ‘23, everything just flows with a big focus on groove and texture.

‘The days after’ drops into the RTRFM Sound Selection for the week of March 3rd, 2025.

Oakabella Mae — Complimentary Ghosts

Oakabella Mae’s Complimentary Ghost EP is out now.

I like the pace of this record, it feels like it kind of blends with the activities of very relaxed, thoughtful day; a weekend-off soundtrack, perhaps. Contributions from the string section fill the background nicely.. My fave melody is Sidewalk City, there’s something comforting about it, like I’ve heard it before, in a good way.

The track ‘Ataraxy’ drops into the RTRFM Sound Selection for the week of February 10th, 2025.

Brix — Grand Brix

Brix release their debut album Grand Brix.

This record is so well balanced! All the things you want from a indie album are here, plus an extra helping of harmonic and rhythmic intrigue, and…space. Meanwhile the vocal melodies really move, and are so delicately placed. Quite a stunning debut.

Grand Brix is the RTRFM Local Feature for the week starting 17th February, 2025.

Nika Mo — Divination (2025 Version)

‘Divination (2025 Version)’ is the second single of Nika Mo’s upcoming EP. Originally off Nika Mo’s 2018 record mess head, this new version brings the full indie-rock band vibe, akin to what you might see at the live show. Because it’s great song, both version work so well!

‘Divination (2025 Version)’ drops into the RTRFM Sound Selection for the week starting February 17th, 2025. And, turned out to be RTRFM’s fourth most played song for the month of February.

Stay tuned for the Panicle EP, out sometime this year.
