Cryptids — Cobwebs

New music from Cryptids out now.

Driving, deep drums and aggressive chorus guitars on this introspective feel song.

From lead singer, Dan Morey

To me, this song is about mental illness and feeling like a burden when going through rough patches.

Michael Terren — It ends in a crypt

Michael Terren’s work for ruined pianos It ends in a crypt is out now.

On its surface this record is an intriguing and enveloping listen, the playing and capture drawing the listener into unique resonances and mechanics of five ruined pianos. What gives the project real weight (and I think you can feel it) is the connection between Michael and Ross Bolleter (musician, writer, Zen teacher, and keeper of the pianos). The two sharing a long friendship and collaboration that extends a lineage of ruined piano playing, improvisation, and composition here in Boorloo.

Odlaw — Mi(l)d Life Crisis

Odlaw release their fourth studio album Mi(l)d Life Crisis on Blue Grey Pink.

This record feels very real with that recorded-live-in-the-room energy, and lyrics from/for the heart and mind, crafted rather than censored. Mark Neal and this all-star band really hit it out of the park on this one.

Out on digital and a really nice vinyl pressing from suitcase records, with a very fresh t-shirt to boot. Get it all at the Odlaw Bandcamp.

Mi(l)d Life Crisis is the RTRFM Local Feature for the week of May 12th, 2025. And, is in Bandcamp’s New and Notable list.

Odlaw — Dads Love ACDC

Out now on Blue Grey Pink is the latest from Odlaw, ‘Dads Love ACDC’— the final single before the Mi(l)d Life Crisis LP arrives.

An ode to Dads and ACDC, painting a picture of Australian backyards and road trips. Odlaw does fun songs really well, upbeat, humorous, this is a big tune!

‘Dads Love ACDC’ is in the RTRFM Sound Selection for the week starting April 7th, 2025.

Brix — Grand Brix

Brix release their debut album Grand Brix.

This record is so well balanced! All the things you want from a indie album are here, plus an extra helping of harmonic and rhythmic intrigue, and…space. Meanwhile the vocal melodies really move, and are so delicately placed. Quite a stunning debut.

Grand Brix is the RTRFM Local Feature for the week starting 17th February, 2025.
