The Drowners — Karaoke Alone

The Drowners are back with their debut full length, Karaoke Alone.

There’s a tone and ensemble dynamic here with a palpable English influence, or is that Pulp-able? It’s ten songs that really don’t let up in terms of pop sensibility and drive for the duration with singer Hugo Bartsch’s voice floating effortlessly throughout. Heavier, harsher moments are balanced with the more intimate and basically, this album just feels reassuringly solid, both sonically and musically.

Karaoke Alone is the RTRFM Local Feature for the week starting February 9th, 2026.

Oakabella Mae — You Oughta Know

Oakabella Mae second single of ‘26 is ‘You Oughta Know.’ This is a very lush, rich, and smooth sonic presentation that kicks into a nice bouncy chorus, and then freaks out through the outro. The lyrics really connect too!

And a great video to match from Tabitha.

Oakabella Mae is releasing a song a month through 2026, with proceeds going to various charities. This month is for Ocean Heroes: surfing the spectrum. Find out more at the website.

Emilie Monty — Slow, steady ~ hands

Emilie Monty’s debut EP Slow, steady ~ hands is out now. This record has a calming effect from the very first guitar strum. Song meets sound bath in perfect harmony, with plenty of sonic richness of the lo-fi variety. It’s certainly one to be listened to from start to finish in one sitting.

The tune ‘Horizon Total’ makes the RTRFM Sound Selection for the week of January 19th, 2026.

J-Fury — Songs I'll Leave Behind

J-Fury releases their debut solo album Songs I’ll Leave Behind.

Approached with a minimal tech recording process and sparse instrumentation, there’s really nowhere for J-Fury to hide on this record. The result is immediate intimacy that stretches for the duration. The balance between organic groove and rubato also beautifully executed.
