Parclo — Not Today

The debut single for parclo is the exquisitely huge ‘Not Today.’ I love the thick guitar tone, full low end, and delicately placed vocal melody.

‘Not Today’ is the RTRFM Sound Selection for the week of September 4th, 2025.

Jacobus Capone — End & Being (2025)

Jacobus Capone’s End & Being (2025) exhibition opens the National Centre for Environmental Art, Grampians/Gariwerd, VIC. From the curator:

End & Being is Capone’s most ambitious undertaking to date. It confronts the accelerating crisis of a warming planet by documenting a gruelling performance above and beneath the Bossons Glacier—Europe’s most prominent icefall, situated on the Mont Blanc massif in France. Over 89 consecutive days, Capone journeyed alone on foot to one of three remote locations, recording one minute of silence each day in the presence of melting ice. This commitment saw him traverse 1,864 kilometres and ascend 151,122 vertical metres across hazardous terrain. His experiences form the basis of an immersive video installation and related works that register glacial transformation and the vulnerability of both landscape and body. (José Sa Silva)

It was excellent spatialising and mastering the audio for this 76-minute, 4-channel video, 4-channel audio surround work. Lots of patient listening and subtle moves to connect the visual to the auditory.

The exhibition runs through to November 5th, 2025. Details at the WAMA Foundation website.

Cryptids — Cobwebs

New music from Cryptids out now.

Driving, deep drums and aggressive chorus guitars on this introspective feel song.

From lead singer, Dan Morey

To me, this song is about mental illness and feeling like a burden when going through rough patches.

Recorded by Broderick Madden-Scott at Tuna Fish Recording
Mixed by Jordan Shakespeare
