The Drowners release ‘Dancing for a Dollar,’ their first single of 2024. I really enjoy the song writing here, and the band feels like it really plays together on this track, dialled in on hits in and out of section etc. An excellent followup to 2023’s ‘Biting Nails.’

The debut album from DEHNOE CLOWNING AROUND is out now on Lunch Records. Nine tracks long with many a twist and turn, including the previously released, frenetic ‘Lost in Space’ and spacious, uplifting ‘Faster Than Light.’ This record doesn’t really let up for the duration, the persistent grooves and textural variance making for a potent mixture.

CHAINMAIL DREAMS is the debut album from Peter Panspermia, out now on Lunch Records.
It it is carefully crafted lo-fi music with a focus on groove and texture. What there was to love about the first few singles continues; spacious, warped, and flowing synthesised sounds, with a crisp vocals occasionally floating through. I love the personal, intimate, and everyday charm of this record.

‘Lost in Space’ from DEHNOE is out now on Lunch Records. A journey from persistent, frenetic melody atop syncopated bass line, to modulating, warped, dial-tone-esk ambience. L0k bringing out great detail and separation in the mix. Really fun track.

Heathcote Blue release their first full length record since 2017 with While Away, out now. We’ve been treated to a few singles already, the spacious ‘Eddy,’ the upbeat and driving ‘Maybe So, Maybe No,’ the ethereal ‘It Rained All Night,’ and most recently the buoyant ‘Parallel Parks.’ A further six tunes complete While Away, working to fill the spaces in between, in terms of duration, obviously, as well as conceptually and musically.
The thing that shines through with this record is the connectedness of the players to each other and the music. All virtuoso players in their own right coming together in service of the music and in support of each others creative goals.
Congrats to the band on a fantastic record.
