Sugar Wife — Ablations

Ablations, the debut record for Sugar Wife, is out now on Blue Grey Pink.

The songwriting and storytelling across the whole album is fantastic. It’s such a complete statement, well conceived, well executed, and a listening experience where music and lyrics work together effortlessly.

The themes on [Ablations] circulate the mental and physical trauma that comes with prolonged, extraordinary health problems interspersed with regular themes that everyone experiences in everyday life. Like blood before and after it has been pumped through the heart, the songs on Ablations often carry a duality; some are paired in the same key, others, a shared hook or lyric, and they’re all as much for the listener as they are for their makers. Web Rumors — Disciple

The new work from vocalist and composer Sage J Harlow is out now on Editions Wandelweiser Records (Germany). variations without a theme (drones ongs) is a four movement text score for chamber ensemble that stretches 80 minutes in duration and is performed here by members of the Boorloo/Perth exploratory music community.
