Kicking off a busy period for Lunch Records is the first single from the L0k + DEHNOE collab. TB-6000, ‘Keys to the Mazda.’

This tune finishes in a completely different place than where it starts, but somehow holds together in a very organic way. The free-wheeling, flowing, and spontaneous vocals again highlight the intuitive approach to production and writing. Any moment could go anywhere, as long as it sounds good.

Catwalk — When The Time Comes

A fresh EP from Catwalk, the first since 2022. On When The Time Comes we find four tightly crafted musical meditations. The lyricism is heavy in content but so inviting in performance, subtly drawing the listener through the record and tying things together. I love how the track ‘Flesh Wheelbarrow’ really stretches out, extends, then locks in and drives to the end.

Teen Angst — wuwu

‘wuwu’ the first single off Teen Angst’s upcoming EP, Cerulean is out now. I get echoes of colder climates in the late 90s, from this one. The extra ear candy, dialup internet noise, digital pidgeon-esque murmurs develops this character nicely, with a fantastic vocal and guitar solo to top it off.

‘wuwu’ adorns the RTRFM Sound Selection for the week starting December 2nd, 2024.

Lachie Brown releases new single ‘Just A Friend,’ an up tempo, bass forward and grooving pop number. I love the momentum and drive from the rhythm section in this tune, with Lachie’s vocals floating effortlessly atop.

Emu Glitter — Resurrect Me/Tamarind & Lime

New Music from Emu Glitter is out now, the double single Resurrect Me/Tamarind & Lime. It feels nicely “live band in a room” and the vocal performance really brings the energy. The tunes hits some classic moments like the harmonica solo in ‘Tamarind…’ and there’s just a hint of the theatrical about the way the piano, lyric and vocal come together.

This one drops into the RTRFM Sound Selection for the week of December 2nd, 2024.
