Approached with a minimal tech recording process and sparse instrumentation, there’s really nowhere for J-Fury to hide on this record. The result is immediate intimacy that stretches for the duration. The balance between organic groove and rubato also beautifully executed.

Oakabella Mae kicks of the year with ‘Take Me (To The Comedy).’ A beautiful folk-esque tune filled out with horns and strings, bouncing into double time on occasion and releasing, opening back to original tempo. Kiara’s voice front and centre, sounding amazing.

‘Take me (To The Comedy)’ was spun on Triple J’s Home and Hosed earlier in the week. It’s also in the WAM Fresh Picks Playlist as of January 16th, 2026.
